Domestic Violence Month
I was very honored this week when my friend Holly from Lil Miss Creations who sponsored the giveaway a few weeks back. She asked if I would help her promote Domestic Violence Awareness and I was immediately on board!
Statistics show that all over the world, 1 in 3 women have either been beaten, coerced into sex, or abused in another way at some point during her life, and unfortunately it is usually by a family member. As a matter of fact, domestic violence is the number one cause of body injury in women which is more than car accidents, muggings & rapes combined!
Every year in the United States, 3.3 million children witness domestic violence in their home and 63% of boys age 11-20 who have committed murder, killed the man who was abusing their mother! Each and every one of us have at least one face come to mind as we read this article and it is sad. Many of women feel helpless, and some of us even offer help, but abusers are excellent at having a psychological hold on those they are hurting, and usually it isn't just as simple as telling someone to leave.

Thank you for such a great giveaway. Spreading the word about domestic violence has a place in my heart as I know how much it can tear apart people's lives. I can't decide between the Cranberry Vanilla candle or the Candy Corn candle. Both look (and I bet smell) great.

I'm a little confused reading the comments. I just want to make sure everyone understands that this giveaway is for the Domestic Violence Awareness Gift Bag and not an item of your choosing from the online shop. That was a different giveaway on a different blog. I will probably offer that with this blog at a point later in the future... maybe closer to Christmas. Thanks!
