Souper Saturday!

HOT CHICKEN WING SOUP

I have to say I have the absolute best est husband in the world.  That's a given regardless, but today I have a very specific reason for saying so:  Hot Chicken Wing Soup.  Really, it doesn't need further explanation if you have had the pleasure of one drop of this heavenly substance on your tongue at some point in your life!

My DH is sort of a "jack of all trades,"  but the "master of none" part really doesn't fit.  I could list his areas that he holds degrees, and it is funny that I can say my Officer was prior both a Master Welder and a Chef (at different times of course).   I have literally had prior co-workers email me two years after we no longer are working together asking for a recipe because they are pregnant and craving his soup!

Anyways, he doesn't often cook, but when he does it is simply amazing.   He knows I have been having a bit of a tough time lately, so when he heard my sister and her daughter were visiting this weekend, he offered to cook his famous Hot Chicken Wing soup.  I am here today to share the recipe with you.

HOT CHICKEN WING SOUP (Serves 12)

6 cans of Campbell's cream of chicken soup

1 24 oz container of Daisy sour cream

2 12 oz jars of Frank's Red Hot Chicken Wing sauce-The North recipe (if you are from the South, substitute 2 jars of Texas Pete Chicken Wing sauce).

16 oz heavy whipping cream (you CAN substitute any type of milk such as 2%, but you will sacrifice that totally sinful taste while maintaining the ability to see your feet)

3 large cooked chicken breast shredded

Lime wedges-optional

Crackers-optional

Combine the first four ingredients in a large crock pot and stir until completely combined.  Add in the chicken and heat in crock pot for 2 hours (or more) on low heat stirring frequently to prevent burning from the heavy dairy content.  When you are ready to eat, serve with a wedge of lime and some crackers.  Enjoy.  Note, if you squeeze the lime on the soup it adds another layer of flavor that is heavenly!

Thirsty Thursday

LOT18 WINE

I wanted to share with you my favorite website for purchasing wine.  I have been a member of Lot18 for several months now and I am in LOVE!  It's a great website where you can by fine wine at up to 60% off the retail price.  I know the price alone sells you on this site right?

There's more!!!!  You can invite friends and receive store credit to buy your own wine with.  That's right folks.  The first time a friend makes a purchase, you receive a $25 store credit AND, there is no limit on how many friends you can invite or how much credit you can earn.

In other words, if I invited 100 friends and they all make a purchase, I can earn a $2500 store credit for wine.  So, I know, you are thinking I would become an alcoholic to drink that much wine.  NOOOOOOO!   I can start my wine cellar collection-did I mention they have great quality wine at affordable prices? Or, I can use it as Christmas, Birthday, National Potato Day (yes, I am an avid fan of the Andy Griffith Show), or whatever Holiday/occasion floats your boat.

So, I know you want to, Click the Link  and join today!  What better time to join than at the Holiday time when you have to buy a bazillion coworkers, teachers, and acquaintances presents?  You just can't go wrong with a bottle of Vino.  Everyone loves it, it's good for the body, and hey, it's relaxing.  So, Join today, your friends and family will thank you!

Tuesday's Thoughts

CALLING ALL HOMESCHOOLERS

I am currently in the confusing process of how to begin homeschooling at least one-eventually all-of my children.  I will be honest with you, I am perfectly capable of homeschooling them.  I taught school for six years, am qualified, smart enough, etc.  Not bragging, not being conceited, it's just a fact.

But man, the process is confusing.  There are a ton of curriculum to choose from.  Honestly, cost is an issue.  It needs to be inexpensive, but effective.  I have the filing info I need to complete to "start" my school, but I could seriously use some input from some Homeschoolers.  I could use some valid insight and suggestions from people who have "been there done that."

So, please, feel free, give me your suggestions, insight, criticisms, whatever you have, I'm a big girl and can take it.  In all seriousness, I could use some great curriculum suggestions and honestly, economical is best.

An easy way to make some pocket change

So a while back I stumbled upon a super easy way to make some money:  Superpoints.  The premise is easy.  You receive an email every day with a specific amount of points you have won-the number you receive changes daily and you can win points by pushing the "lucky button."   The more friends you have in your network, the quicker your points accrue, so for those of us with lots of friends, hey it's literally as easy as the Click of a button.

When you accumulate so many points, you can select a reward which range from Paypal cash, an Ipod nano, Starbucks GC, Amazon GC, and the list goes on.  I bet you are ready to enter aren't you??  You know you want to.  It's easy, doesn't take much time, and in no time you too can be cashing out for some great stuff.  Here you go.  Here is the link you need to join.

Update Your Shoes Monthly with Shoe Dazzle

SHOE DAZZLE

Earlier this month, I won a GC for $39.95 to ShoeDazzle.com.  I have to admit that before my win, I had heard a bit about the company, but wasn't overly familiar.  I have to say that even if I forget that I won, my entire experience has been great, and I would definitely recommend this company to friends and family.

The premise of the website is that EVERYTHING on the website is just $39.95.  It is created from designers, but not at a designer cost.  Also, when you join, you answer questions about which shoe you like best out of a set of pictures, which handbag, jewelry, etc.  Then, a group of stylists review your input and they create a showroom full of recommendations specifically picked for you to select from.

If you don't like anything from the first  showroom, you can opt to have a second show room created to select from.  However, if you don't care for anything from either show room you have two options.  If you decide by the fifth day of the month that you just don't care for anything this month, you can choose to skip the month.   This means you don't have to purchase anything that month and your bank account/credit card won't be charged.

You can also choose to do what I did and simply browse the entire web site's collection and choose something the designer's didn't choose for you and purchase that.  In the event you didn't skip the month by the 5th day, your bank account or credit card will be debited for $39.95 and you will receive a "store" credit on the website to be used when you decide to purchase something.

I think this is a fabulous idea for anyone who shops for clothing, shoes, jewelry on a monthly basis.  You have wonderful designer selections at a fraction of the cost, and it's exciting to always be able to buy something new.  However, if you are the type (like me) to shop every few months, this may not be the option for you.

Even though I don't shop regularly like some people do, I was still incredibly pleased with my experience with the company and definitely recommend them to others.  The same day I ordered my shoes I received an email stating they had already been shipped which really surprised me.  My online shopping experience has been that it usually takes companies at least 24-48 hours to ship an item, and often time takes much longer.

Also, my shoes are really high quality.  I loved many of the beautiful stilettos, heels, and jewelry that the website offers, but I was in the market for a new pair of sneakers.  I had looked to no avail for several weeks, but I found exactly what I had been looking for on my first visit to Shoe Dazzle!  I opted for the Hot Pink and White Kim Kardashian Breast Cancer shoe.  I love that part of the proceeds go to support the cause, plus I am a girly girl who loves pink!

Lastly, they have new selections to choose from every month and you can join and start your wonderful buying experience HERE.

Disclaimer:  I was not compensated in any fashion (monetarily or product) by Shoe Dazzle.  This review is my sole unique opinion, and honest!
