Barbara Orbison, wife of Roy Orbison has led an exciting life: Entrepreneur, Manager, and Business woman, and now she is the Owner of Pretty Woman, LLC.  Her perfume represents her life long dream!  Ever since she can remember, Barbara has been concocting scents, lotions, and various potions in her kitchen.  She was actually raised right in the middle of the fashion world in Germany so she knew about makeup and fashion from a very early age!  

When she married Roy, she already knew the scent she wanted to market, but the idea got put on the back burner as she became his manager and entrenched in the music world.  Thankfully for the world, she has been working hard with the development of her scent, Pretty Woman which immediately brings to mind the iconic song "Pretty Woman" as well as her candle, T-shirt and Hat line and we can enjoy them today.

I received a package containing a 1.7 oz bottle of Pretty Woman, a votive candle, and a Hat to help with my review.  

The Perfume has many beautiful notes to it:  florals, spices and woods.  The top note is of bergamot which leads to the middle notes of stargazer lily, roses and carnations.  The base notes are of amber, patchouli, vanilla, atlas cedar, and incense.  I don't often use the word sexy in context with a perfume, but that is exactly what this scent is:  Sexy.  This is the kind of perfume I would wear in the evening when I go out on a date with hubby to the movies, or to a great restaurant because it makes me feel beautiful and alive!

The Pretty Woman candle comes in a gorgeous black votive and has the same rich sexy smell about it!  After burning for an hour my entire house had a sexy smell about it and it is the first candle I reach for to light at night when I am relaxing and reading.

The hat is just cute.  It is white with the black Pretty Woman logo on it and can be worn while working in the yard or can be worn when I go out of the house with a great pair of high heeled sandals and jeans!  I don't often wear hats, but when I do, I want to have a cute feminine hat to wear, and this fits the bill!  

I love that they offer Roy Orbison Packages as well that include specific cd's, dvd's, and books as well.  So, while this is a tribute to Barbara being such a vibrant, gorgeous woman, the Pretty Woman Company represents what a beautiful couple they are and is a tribute to their life together!

I give them an overall rating of an A.  I love the scent, the candle is so gorgeous I will be sad when it is burned out, and the hat is pretty.  It comes in white and black for now, but I would suggest adding a pink and maybe even a purple color to the hats.  Pinkalicious describes me to a T, and I know many women love pink along with me!

As an eco-friendly, green loving mother on a path to living as friendly to Mother Earth as possible, I am always searching for the products I love that meet my same standards in life.  I love great stationary, and always have.  To this day I love leaving my husband special little notes of adoration, or even a note expressing my thoughts when I am at a loss of how to communicate my feelings with verbal words.  I have only done so a few times in the past year because I just can't in good conscious waste paper which came from trees.  I am fortunate to live on 100 acres of land so trees are abundant, but it saddens me as I drive to town to do extensive shopping and I see nothing but concrete and steel abut no trees.

Babadoo Designs was established in 2008 when Hillary Walters-Reynolds  wanted to get back to one of her passions:  designing paper products.  She named the company after two of her favorite little men Benjamin and Andrew (Andrew used to refer to himself as Andoo and Benjamin as Baba-in), and thus the name was born!  When Carter came along awhile later, she just added a whole line to her company and named it Little Carter.  

Babadoo Designs is set apart from the rest because they are committed to using 100% recycled paper excluding labels and they use original water color paintings designed by Hillary and her father. They offer everything from photocards, stationary, invitations, thank you cards, shirts and so much more!

I received a package containing stationary cards with my blog name on them and an Orpington Chicken on them.  I selected this watercolor because I raise free-range organic chickens and this looks Exactly like my rooster, Joe.  The stationary is very high quality, comes with matching envelops, and I am very pleased with this stationary.

I love a fresh smelling home, and back in the day I had candles burning at all times to make things smell fresh.  Then I went through a phase where I used those scented plug ins that work, but are just terrible for those of with asthma.  However, I still used them when I had company and such.  Things changed four years ago when I met my fabulous husband.  His mother has asthma so badly that using anything that isn't natural will give her a horrible attack and sometimes end her up in the hospital!

So, I quit using fresheners.  I don't mind too much, my house is clean (depending on the moment you walk in), and I like knowing I have not been using chemicals to clean it!  I have stumbled upon a really great company that solves this problem for me.

Emy Baker Originals, LLC, founded in 1998 provides an eco-friendly, 100% biodegradable way to freshen your world whether it be your shoes, your kitchen, your car, they have you covered!  They have created a healthy alternative to what is currently on the market and are reducing the carbon footprint while they are at it!!

They offer sachets they call teas which extend from shoes, kitchens, dorms, cars and they even offer a lovely beauty line of body scrubs, all-natural shaving oils and body oils!   I received a package containing a gift set of oils, car tea, shoe tea, and kitchen tea.  Most of the time when I write a review, I involve the children, but I have to admit I LOVE reviewing something that is decadent and all mine (yes that is the last child in me coming out to play)!

The first thing I tried was the Kitchen Tea which is Hazelnut Cappuccino scented.  It reminds me of going hazelnut picking as a little girl with my family and it is mouthwatering!  I have to remind myself every time I walk in the kitchen that it isn't for eating!  My kitchen smells amazing and I love it!

The shaving oil really caught my eye because it is innovative, at least in my world.  I have seen shaving creams, lotions, and people dry shave or use a bar of soap or conditioner, but I have never seen a shaving oil!  This all natural, unscented oil is comprised of sunflower and grapeseed oils and even came with a package of disposable razors.  My first go round didn't go great.  I think I didn't use enough oil, but any way you cut it, I got razor burn.  The second go round I used more oil and had a much better result.  I am a bit of a creature of habit and like using conditioner to shave with, but the oil is definitely much healthier and something I am using from now on.

The body oil is also unscented, phthalate free and is made also from Sunflower and Grapeseed oils and is perfect of massaging out the kinks at the end of a long day.  I love that it is all natural and made with products known for their anti-inflammatory and anti-aging uses.

Lastly, I opened the Cheay Cheay Car Tea and the Garden Mint Shoe Tea.  I love that the shoe tea comes with two small sachets perfectly sized to fit in the toe of each shoe!  The Car Tea smells just like the car when it comes off the show room or fresh from the car wash!

You know how there are shows on television that you just never watch but you hear all the hoopla about it at work or on Facebook later that day? There are tons of shows like that for me because I don’t watch a lot of the ones that seem to be so popular. For example Grey’s Anatomy. I watched maybe two seasons of that show before I got tired of all the drama and the unrealistic injuries that would walk in their ER doors. There are certain shows that I just don’t get the fascination. Desperate Housewives would be another one that I just don’t get. Those women are so ridiculous on that show that I can’t even stand to watch it. This brings us to One Tree Hill. I believe this show was a CW creation for high schoolers and early college students back when I was still in college but I never started watching it. Evidently today is the series finale of the show and people on my Facebook news feed are hysterical. Check out expertsatellite to find out if you can catch One Tree Hill in syndication one day.

My girls and even my youngest son are always wanting new stuffies of one sort or another.  They play with them for hours!  They play school with them, mama baby with them, going to the dentist with them (my Suzannah wants to be a dentist one day) and they even dress them up!  We have so many different outfits for our stuffies here.  

When I was contacted about doing a review about a new line of stuffies from Aurora and Co, I  was ecstatic!  I knew this was a perfect review for us!

Aurora and Co makes a wide selection of YooHoo and Friends, 25 or so, and they are all just so cute.  They are animals that are wearing costume Hoodies to look like other animals!  The hoods of the hoodies even come off so they can be the animal they were born, and when you put the hoodie on they are whatever animal they are wearing!

My 3 youngest  had a blast with this darling Lemmie Stuffy we received.  He is Lemmie the Grumpy Lemur and he is wearing an elephant costume!  The girls had a large time getting on the website and explaining to Mika how Lemurs, who come from Madagascar are nocturnal.  They also learned about how most of the species of Lemurs are extinct now, which goes right along with what Suzannah is learning in school right now in the 3rd grade!

We did have a bit of a scuffle over poor Lemmie because the two youngest wanted him so badly, but of course the 2 year old won, and he loves carrying Lemmie around by his cool tail!  He also loves pushing his belly and listening to the lemur noises Lemmie Makes!

The website is addicting!  My girls love going there because of the interactive rooms and games.  You can feed your pet, build a room, sketch pictures, there is a whole game room full of various games to play, and a fun room full of various other activities!

Tasty Alternative to Chips with Pretzel Pete!

I am more of a sweets person when it comes to snacking, as a matter of fact I just finished a nice red grapefruit that was so sweet and juicy.  However, there are times that nothing will do but something salty.  At those times, I struggle finding something to eat because I am not much of a chip person, crackers aren't really my thing, but I think I have finally stumbled upon what I like:  pretzels.

Pretzel Pete, wholly owned by SB Global Foods sells specialty snacks here in the US since 1991, and exports products to over 40 countries in the world.  Also, they have won several awards for excellence.  I received a very generous package of pretzel varieties from Pretzel Pete to help with my review.  We received  packages of the Honey Mustard, Cheddar Ale, Garlic and Cheese, and Sour Cream and Habanero Pretzel Nuggets along with bags of the Coconut Curry Pearls, Szechuan Pearls, and the Wasabi Pearls.

My children were literally walking out the door to leave for a few weeks when I received the package so I wasn't able to get great pics of them eating them; however, I was able to sneak a few packs in their back packs and pack a couple of boxes in their snack tote bag for the road without them seeing me.  I got the best phone call from them just so excited about the yummy pretzels they discovered.  The general conclusion was the Honey Mustard was their favorite with the Wasabi pretzel pearls was their second favorite.

I have to say I enjoyed all of the pretzels, especially the curry ones.  If you like curry, then you will love these pretzel pearls!  I think they are a nice value too!  A 4.5 oz bag of pretzel pearls retails for right around $1.17 each, and the boxes of pretzel nuggets sell for $1.25 a box which I personally think is a super value.  I can't get awesome tasting flavored pretzels at the market for less than $3.79 for a small bag, so based on the flavor and cost I would recommend Pretzel Pete to anyone!

Our school system has a program sponsored by the Kiwanis  for the students in the school.  The teacher's nominate the students based on things like academic performance, improvements, character traits, etc and every quarter the school holds a celebration breakfast.  This is only for the students selected and their families, and this is the SECOND time this year my daughter Suzannah has been nominated.  Can we say Proud Mama, much?

Snack Healthily with Wasa Flatbread!

I do a lot of baking myself here at My Wild Crazy Life so that I can better control what we eat.  However, I am only one person divided among 5 other people and my time is a commodity here.   As much as I like to think I have a birthmark in the shape of Superman's S on my chest, the truth is I need great companies to fall back on when I am in a time crunch or just am flat out too tired to bake!

Wasa, headquartered in Stockholm Sweden is the world's largest producer of Flatbread, and while the Swedes are the number one consumer of flatbread, the USA is in the top 10 consumers of flatbread!  Now, I know you are thinking what is Wasa Flatbread?  Well, it is a healthy alternative to bread, akin to a cracker, but larger.  Wasa has always provided flatbreads with rye as the main grain, but over the years they have incorporated other grains such as whole wheat, oatmeal, and barley.  Wasa is low fat, high in fiber, with no added sugar or trans fats.  

I received a variety of Wasa products to help with my review:  Thin and Crispy Sesame Flatbread, Thin and Crispy Rosemary Flatbread,  Whole Grain Crispbread, Multi grain Crispbread, and Rye Crispbread.  

We tried them plain first, and the light rye really didn't have a strong rye flavor to it.  My two year old Mika even ate two crispbreads when he won't touch rye bread!  My favorite by far was the Rosemary Flatbread which was bursting with Rosemary flavor.  The other three, the Whole Grain Crispbread, the Multi Grain Crispbread, and the Sesame Flatbread all are a tad bland when eaten alone, but make for a nice base palette to add other things to!

Of course when I went to make the recipe I had in mind,  not me and I don't know who someone had eaten some of my ingredients, so I decided to wing it!

The first treat we made was a Multi Grain Crispbread with some cream cheese and cucumber!

These were a hit, and the plate ended up being completely cleaned!

The second ones I made were by far MY favorite.  I topped some with provolone cheese, honey roasted turkey and roasted red pepper.  They were just amazing, and something I wouldn't mind eating for lunch or a lite supper some evening!

The Children's favorite was the last that I made.  I topped the Rosemary Flatbread with some pepperoni and mozzarella cheese and broiled it until the cheese was melted through.  They were actually arguing over who got the last one and how they didn't want to share!

I think these are a great alternative to bread, and a great base for making other food!  The website even has recipes you can refer to on how to use the crispbreads for Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, and Snacks!  You can read more about Wasa on the website as well as connect with them on Facebook, so head on over and check them out!

Affordable Cloth Diapering with Sun Baby Diapers!

I love cloth diapering, because I like knowing that I am putting the best material on my baby's bottom.  I also love that it is so Earth friendly and that I am not loading the land fills with used diapers.  My daughter learned in school this year that it takes 20 years for a disposable diaper to degrade, but I have also read sources that state it takes 20-500 years with most sources leaning towards 500 years.  It really doesn't matter if it is 20 or 500 because it is needless to mar our world with all the clutter when cloth diapering is so easy.

I have been using a pocket diaper with an extra insert in at night time, and I was thrilled to receive a package in the mail (who doesn't love fluff mail, right?) from Sun Baby Diapers with one of their new 4.0 Pocket Diaper with 2 Microfiber inserts.

The Sun Baby Diaper is designed to fit babies from 7-35 lbs and has 3 sets of snaps so that it has 3 different rises.

Diaper on it's highest rise-perfect for newborns!  Almost makes me want another!  Almost. 

This is the diaper on the second rise, for older babies!  

I love that it has hip snaps on it so that the diaper is good and snug around the legs to help prevent leaking!

The exterior is made from water proof material, and it has a pocket flap to keep leaking from the pocket insert!

I love that it came with two microfiber inserts so it can be used as a pocket diaper, or with an insert at night time for added protection!

I can attest that these diapers run bigger than 35 lbs.  My son is almost 3 and is still in diapers at night time.  He is almost 40 lbs, and I am still fastening it on the second to last snap on each side, so he has growing room in it!

Diaper seen here in on the last set of snaps and at it's largest.  These run a little large in my opinion which is awesome for toddlers still wearing them at night time, or late trainers!

You can see that the rise is perfect on Mika:  not too low at all!

The elastic is firm for a nice snug fit around the legs to prevent leaks, but still has plenty of give and comfort to it!

And a picture to show that even though he is 38 lbs and I am not using the last snap, you can see how roomy his diaper is around the waist.

I personally think these diapers are a super value. They sell for $51 for 6 diapers with 12 Bamboo Inserts.  The bigger the bundle you buy the more you save, but regardless, that's a little over $8 a diaper!

10 minutes and I'm married to a Younger Man with Just for Men!

My husband Matthew has always been quite camera shy, and as he has gotten older, he is even more ornery camera shy than ever.  However, when I was contacted with the opportunity to review an awesome new easy hair color for men, I told him he was going to asked him nicely to help a gal out.  In all seriousness, he agreed to be my model, and I am glad he did!

We received a package of all five shades to assist with our review.  I kept the 3 brown shades so that we could match up his color perfectly, and passed along the two black shades to one of the officers who works under my husband to use and enjoy.

Matthew said he would like to go a shade lighter since it is Spring time, so we selected the Medium Brown even though he naturally has a very dark shade of brown hair.

Matthew doesn't have a head of gray hair, but he definitely has several patches of gray hairs-see pictures.

He didn't want to go it alone, so I donned the black gloves (note to the makers of women's hair color:  we want black gloves too!) and screwed the comb onto the tube of color.  After I combed the color into his entire hair which took less than 5 minutes, we set the timer for 10 minutes and he helped our daughter brush her hair.  The color is no-drip, so he didn't even have to wear a towel, although if you are going to rinse in a shower instead of a sink, you should at least take off the shirt first.

As you can see in the pictures below, all of his gray is gone, and his hair colored evenly and very nicely.  As with all home color, it is hard to lighten hair.  Since this is targeted to cover gray, not lighten hair, Matthew's idea of a lighter shade didn't work well for him.  However, I would buy and will purchase Just for Men many times in the future because it works as easy and well as it claims to!
