Eco Rebelution Giveaway 6/17

Eco Rebelution Giveaway

For over 2 years now I have a deep love for eco-friendly living including anything that minimizes our carbon footprint on the earth as well as allows us to give back to our Earth.  We do everything here in the My Wild Crazy Life house from recycle, hang our clothes on the line, to unplug everything but the refrigerator when not in use. I also make most of my own cleaning supplies, and the ones I do buy are green and eco friendly.  Additionally, we are avid gardeners, planting a huge vegetable, fruit, and herb garden every year.

So it comes natural to want to share a company with you that is revolting against pollution and depleting the earth of valuable resources which is where Eco Rebelution comes in.  Eco Rebelution is owned by two hikers who love wandering and are in love with plants and flowers.  They offer everything from recycled paper envelope to seed bombs which help with the replenishment of the earth.

Baking Made Simple with Silpat

It's no secret by now that I love to bake. I love kneading dough, rolling out cookies, cutting out biscuits, and trying new recipes.  I have been baking since I was a teen, and I can tell you that nothing is worse than spending hours baking only to find out the bottom of my fabulous concoction burned on the bottom.  Up until the last month, I have always used either cooking spray or I have had to manually oil the pan.  Neither is a huge issue, but all that added oil isn't great for us, and sometimes my things still burn on the bottom.

Silpat is the perfect solution to my baking dilema!  Silpat was created by M Guy Demarle who began tinkering around to find a better baking solution in 1965 when he created the first non-stick baguette trays or filets as they are called in France.  Fast forward some years, and he created Silpat, the original non-stick baking mat.  Silpat products are made in France and in 1993 offices were opened in the US as well.

I remember the very first cooking show on Food Network, and every since the chefs started using Silpat I have been wanting to try one so when I was offered the chance to review one I didn't have to think twice about saying yes!  It was love at first sight for me and Silpat, my new bestie.  One of my favorite features is that you can roll the mat up for storage.  My Silpat rolls up into a homemade telescope and slides right between the wall and the microwave for storage!  This solves my baking cabinet organizational issues which I will save for another conversation entirely.

Secondly, I love the "shiny" feel of the Silpat.  Before I ever used it, I knew it wouldn't stick or burn just from the feel of it.  I don't have a traditional baking sheet at the moment so I use it on a pizza sheet, and it works perfectly!  Silpat is traditionally used for bakery items such as cookies while the Silpain is used for breads, but you can see for yourself from my picture that Silpat will work for bread as well. Note:  I haven't yet tried the Silpain to see the difference, but I plan on doing so in the near future.

Lastly, cleanup is a cinch.  Silpat is easily wiped clean, can be rinsed off and then air dried, and if you really need to use soap on it, you can use a weak, soap solution.  However, I haven't yet needed to use soap on it since simply rinsing and wiping it dry with a damp cloth is more than sufficient for most things.

I give Silpat a 10 out of a 10!  It's FDA approved, Kosher certified so that my religious friends can use it also, can last up to 3000 uses if properly taken care of, and only costs $26!  You do the exact math if you like, but even a rough estimate is easy to see that this way saves both the environment and my pocket book!

Go ahead and see what all my Silpat love is about on the Silpat website and Facebook.  If you bake at all, you will likely love how easy these are to use, and of course they are a better option for the environment than a can of spray!

Sponsor Spotlight-Art By Shelley

Art By Shelley

About five years ago I began gardening, and I immediately fell in love.  Turns out that getting my hands in dirt and planting flowers, strawberries, and various fruits and vegetables is very relaxing for me.  I love nothing more than going out in the evenings once the sun is no longer so hot and spending hours weeding and tending to my garden.  I have planted most of my garden for this year already:  six long rows of corn, 39 tomato plants, 20+ cucumber plants, green onions, green beans, summer peas, sunflowers, eggplant, kale, and many other plants.  I love watching my plants grow and seeing the fruit of all my hard work.  So of course, it seems natural that I would love anything that boasts my love of gardening.

Art By Shelley is a whimsical store which boasts books, stationary, artwork, and other things by Shelley Dieterichs.  She has won numerous awards, illustrated many children's books and educational materials, and is an experienced graphic artist.

Art By Shelley has everything from Children's t shirts, Birthday Products, Illustrated Books, Gardening Gifts, and so much more!  To facilitate my review, I received a package containing an I Garden Therefore I Am Mug, an Eat Sleep Garden T Shirt and a set of Personalized Note cards.

The Eat Sleep Garden T Shirt is made out of 100% cotton, has short sleeves and is super comfortable. It is cute enough to wear on errands or in the yard while gardening!  Cotton is one of my favorite materials to wear because it is so comfortable, so I this will be thrown into regular rotation as one of my lounging shirts!

The mug is just so cute.  It is a ceramic glazed mug which isn't dishwasher safe.  However, this isn't an issue for me since my dishwashers are all aged 8-12!  Seriously, my dishwasher is broken so I wash the dishes by hand which is perfect for this mug.  My favorite part about the mug is the handle which has a green thumb on it and the statement "place green thumb here!"

Lastly, I am in love with the note cards with my name on them.  I have always loved stationary so this is right up my alley.  I write to my girls teachers at least twice a month, and I like being able to do so on cute stationary!

Overall, I was pleased with the items I received.  They are fairly priced for such cute, personalized items!  I would recommend Art By Shelley to anyone looking for cute, unique products to use for themselves or as a gift.  Check them out for yourself at the Art By Shelley website as well as Facebook and Pinterest.  Also, Shelley is graciously offering a $30 Gift Certificate to her online store which can be used towards the purchase of any items available!  So, go ahead and ENTER THE GIVEAWAY HERE!
