Cleopatra's Choice Argon Oil Review

My family suffers from varying degrees of dry skin.  My oldest son and oldest daughter have eczema that pops it's head up at the oddest times, but the rest of the time they just have "dry skin."  My husband shaves his head and depending on the time of the year he can have a really dry scalp.  For instance, we went to the beach 2 weeks ago, and even though he wore a hat, his scalp still dried out!  So we are always hydrating our skin, and moisturizers are our friend!

I have been hearing a lot of great things lately about Argon oil, so when I was given the opportunity to try out Cleopatra's Choice Argon oil, I jumped at the chance.  Most of the Cleopatra's Choice product line is vegan friendly, cruelty free, and promotes well-being!  I feel very strongly about cruelty-free products, and whenever possible I try to only purchase cruelty-free!

With the Argon Oil, a "little dab will do" as my Mama used to say.  I have been using oil on my curly hair for quite some time now to cut down on frizz and help my curls lay just right, but I quickly found out that I need much less of the argon oil to achieve the same results of the brand of hair oil I had been using. This is a great thing in my book since products cost money, and lasting longer is definitely great!

I put a nickle sized dab in my hand and rubbed it all over my husband's scalp.  He slept with it on, and after he showered the following morning all the dry skin was gone!  I typically pay $30 for hair oil that isn't formulated for body, and I have to use double the amount.  I can buy Pure Argon Oil for Hair and Body for $44, it lasts twice as long, and I can use it on any part of my body that needs hydration!  It may seem pricey, but it lasts a very long time, and IT WORKS!  My only wish is that it had some scent to it, since I love beautiful scents.  However, considering how well it works, scent isn't a "make it or break it" issue.

You can find this and many more products on the Cleopatra's Choice website, Facebook, and Twitter.  Hey, they are BBB approved, so why not check them out?

iCandy Cherry Stroller Giveaway!

Megan, who blogs at Behavioral Child and Megan Blogs, was a guest of the CBS TV show The Talk when Dr. Gadget was on, and among other things, she was given the iCandy Cherry stroller, in the liquorice color. She is giving it away to one lucky, random winner.

I have never personally used this stroller, but as a mom of four, I know first hand how important a stroller or a sling is with a baby.  I am so excited to share this giveaway with you so that you can have the opportunity to win a stroller of your own!

This British-made stroller is very popular in Europe and is sold only in exclusive stores here in the US. Its retail value is $400.

{Disclaimer/Disclosure: I have not used this stroller so I can’t vouch for it. I have it in its original/new packaging and will ship it to the winner in the exact same condition. So essentially, I’m re-gifting it :) The Talk has no idea what I’m doing with it, nor would it probably care. By entering this giveaway, you agree to indemnify me, The Talk, and iCandy from any responsibilities of all issues arising from the receipt and use of this prize. Thanks for participating and good luck! - Megan Broutian}

Mara's Pasta -100% Whole Wheat Pasta

A little over a year ago, my oldest son tested high for blood sugar two times, so I decided to change aspects of our diet.  Thankfully when he went in for a third test later on, his sugar is now in normal ranges.  One of the things we made changes in was our white bread and pasta consumption since they break down into sugar so quickly.  We eat less pasta now than we did a year ago; however, when we eat it, I want a whole wheat pasta that still tastes great.

I was blessed with a gift box of pasta from Mara's Pasta to try, and I was very pleased with it.  Mara's Pasta  creates a pasta from two readily identifiable ingredients:  whole wheat and water.  Nothing more.  It lacks that heavy flavor and bite that comes to mind when you think of whole wheat pasta on the market made from durum wheat.  Not only does it taste better, but Mara's Pasta has 7 grams of fiber per serving compared to 4 grams that other brands boast.  The end result is that it takes longer for the sugars to break down which makes it good for us!

I asked my husband to cook the meal for this review because he makes a mean Clam Fettuccine and he readily agreed. However, he doesn't like whole wheat pasta so I boiled up the whole wheat fettuccine sent to me, and some white fettuccine for him.

When he tasted both pastas cooked plain he said the whole wheat tasted better, had a better bite, and was the pasta he chose to eat.  For us the proof really is in the pudding pasta.

I would recommend this pasta because it has a bite and taste that is closer to white pasta but with all the positives of a whole wheat pasta!

You can find this pasta and other pastas on the Mara's Pasta Homepage and purchase them at Mara's Pasta Online Store.
