Holiday Gift Guide: Pear Tree Greetings Giveaway 12/10

I am not a historian, but legend has it that Christmas Cards originated in England sometime in the 1840's.  A Sir Henry Cole wanted to spread the word about his favorite charity so he asked an artist to paint a depiction of the poor being given food and clothing. Someone added the words "A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to You" and the greeting card company was a boom the next day!  Okay, maybe not the next day, but the tradition definitely caught on, and it has expanded into a Holiday Tradition for most of us!

Nutrisystem week 14 #NS Nation, #Spon

Somehow with all the Holiday cleaning, cooking and relatives visiting I totally forgot to post my weight loss last Friday.  I am really sorry about that, so I thought I would post twice this week, now and at the end to show my progress!

I am thrilled to say that last week as of Thursday (we celebrated Friday since DH had to work) that I have finally reached my 20 lb weight loss and weigh 260.  I would be dishonest if I didn't say I wish this weight loss thing were going quicker and that it was easier for me to lose.  However, I am staying positive because I have at least lost 20 lbs, and multiple inches.

I am a little worried about this week since I didn't stick to the plan Friday-Sunday since we had company. I did eat some Nutrisystem at breakfast, lunch and snacks, but evening meals I enjoyed with the family and I know I will pay the price!  I may be a slow loser, but the jeans I was in when I started still fall off if I try to wear them, so I am definitely seeing results!

Just say No to Saggy Pants with Olive and Nell Livy Belt!

Two of my children were blessed with my behind.  This didn't use to be as fashionable as it is now, and I want to personally thank Jennifer Lopez for smoothing the way and making big booties the in thing!  My other two kids (the youngest two) weren't so blessed.  As a matter of fact, they were not blessed at all.  They have no hips and no booty. Wonderful!  Finally children who are model thin!

Not so much.  Why?  Because the world sees more of their naked behinds then they would like to.  Honestly, I can't find anything that works.  Belts won't hold up those sagging drawers, and even if I buy the pants too tight, they still sag!  It really is an embarrassing dilemma.

When I was presented with the opportunity to review the LivyBelt by Olivia and Nell   I jumped at the opportunity.  They are buckle-less, velcro-less,  snap-less, and don't need belt loops.  They are a stretchy material that slides over clothing and rests over top of the waist band to hold it in place.

I want to say how cute these belts are.  One has a bow on it, the other is a solid band, and the third is hot pink and black striped and is wide.  They are just so cute.  The wide one works perfectly as it should.  Stays in place, holds up the pants, and all three are super durable.  However, the other two caused some tears here in the My Wild Crazy Life Home.  My slender "skinny minnie" as I call her who has to wear slim pants and still use the elastic and buttons to make them tighter on her in order to fit tried the other two belts and they just wouldn't stay in place.

They kept rolling up no matter how we tried.  So, I used the one with a bow on it as a super cute head piece on her and the tears were magically gone!  Turns out these used as a hair piece were such a hit at school among all the girls that a 5th grader "borrowed it without asking" from my daughter and wouldn't return it.  No worries, we eventually got the band back, and it has been worn several times since!

My daughter has been super pleased with these belts and has even asked if we can purchase more in different styles and colors so she can accessorize all her outfits, so LivyBelts definitely get a thumbs up in my book!  You can find them on Facebook to keep up with their latest promotions!

Coconut is one of my favorite treats.  I love everything from coconut custard pie, coconut cream pie, coconut almond candy bars, and I love to drink coconut water.  The truth is that it has been a very long time since I have enjoyed any of the above except for the coconut water.  Until last week.

When I received a package in the  mail with bags of macaroons in it from Hail Merry, I knew I was going to enjoy me some coconut- and I did.  These things are sinful, except they are almost guilt-free sin.  Confused? Let me explain.  These macaroons are vegan, gluten-free, contain raw oils, but taste so good you won't miss the bad stuff you think is supposed to be in  your candy!

The only thing I can even think of that makes Hail Merry a potential no-no is because they have a "may contain tree nuts" disclaimer on them.  For us, that means my oldest cannot eat them, but hey, more for mama!










I definitely am adding these to my list of goodies to add in stockings this year because with things like raw almond flour, coconut oil, organic shredded coconut, and nothing resembling preservatives, chemicals, or ingredients I can't pronounce, they are perfect for my kids!
