Love And Other Subjects Book Tour & $15 Amazon GC Giveaway! Three Winners 2/6

For every woman who wonders if she chose the right career

Carolyn Jenkins strives for two things–to be the greatest teacher ever and to find true love. She’s as skilled at both as an infant trying to eat with a fork. Carolyn’s suburban upbringing and genuine compassion for people who don’t fit effortlessly into society are no match for weapon-wielding, struggling students, drug-using colleagues, and a wicked principal.

Meanwhile, her budding relationship with a mystery man is thwarted by his gaggle of eccentric sisters. Carolyn depends on her friends to get her through the hard times, but with poverty-stricken children at her feet and a wealthy man at her side, she must define who she is.

The reality of life after college can be daunting, the road to full-fledged adulthood long and unscripted. Can Carolyn take control and craft the existence she always wanted?

I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

My Review:

As always with Kathleen Shoop's work, I was mesmerized, and I really enjoyed this book. She successfully captures the feelings of everything from euphoria, giddiness, and even the heart breaking searing pain of being in love. She images the insecurity of youth and brings the character full circle to finding herself and being confident in who she is without a man-which is exactly what she needs to be with the man she is in love with!

I give this book a 2 thumbs up because I every time I picked it up to read, I didn't want to put it back down!

  1. I love books like that when you just want to read and read and read the only trouble is that eventually they have to end :-( xx

    1. And then I sit for a week wondering what the Character did next, and refuse to start a new one. ...Yes, this was one of those books. Maybe a sequel one day......

  2. Thank you thank you thank you!!! You are so kind and generous with your thoughts! So glad you liked it.

    1. You are welcome. I originally discovered one of your works on a book tour, and I was impressed with how it drew me in. I love reading, but it isn't often the feelings the Character is going through feel like they "hit home" even when the situation is so far from what I have experienced in life. Great read!
